The cottage is located at the heart of Mevagissey, situated in St Austell Bay. Mevagissey is well known for its quaint narrow streets and unique selection of shops, galleries, inns and restaurants. 

The 14th century historic working fishing port of Mevagissey consists of a maze of tiny streets meandering through dwarf cob cottages leading out to the picturesque harbour. Visitors are expected to leave their cars in the car parks at the entrance enabling more freedom for them to roam around the quaint streets which house many stylish shops, crafts, restaurants and oldy world pubs.

Mevagissey's tiny streets have many hidden attractions like Mevagissey's folk museum, model railway, garden gnome attraction, to name but a few. Whilst the harbourside boasts the Mevagissey to Fowey ferry trips, inshore and offshore fishing trips, pleasurecraft hire, or simply just watching the fisherman bringing in their catch and enjoying a Cornish ice cream or cream tea. Many festivities are held throughout the Summer and Mevagissey Feast Week is a week of fun, dancing, fireworks, competitions and live music on the harbourside - a terrific atmosphere and a great place to visit.

Mevagissey also offers great locality for visitors. A beautiful cycle trail takes you all around the area from Heligan via Pentewan valley through to St Austell. There are also copious scenic walks along the coastal path. The world famous Eden Project (7.5 miles) is in easy reach, the Lost Gardens of Heligan (1 mile) are on the doorstep, Local safe beach of over 1 mile is 5 minutes drive away. The unspoilt fishing village of Gorran Haven is just around the corner and also the beautiful beach of Port Mellon. The National Trust's Lanhydrock House is only a 12 mile drive. The Cathedral City of Truro and town of St Austell are about 15 miles away.
